Housing Stability & Affordability represents the hub of the wheel of Strategic Focus Areas for Mono County.

A lack of workforce housing impacts the County’s ability to maintain a thriving economy, recruit and retain workforce, and achieve positive health and educational outcomes.
The 2026 Regional Housing Needs Assessment identified a need for 314 homes serving households earning between 80-150% of the Area Median Income.

Home-Ownership is a tool to maintain a full-time population and provide housing stability for County residents.

The County has identified funding sources and created a Local Housing Trust Fund to deploy programs to help locals achieve home-ownership.
